I found out about the WTC quilt on the internet and came in contact with Kathie. She is going to stitch a square on the quilt in the memory of my husband. Thank you Kathie for doing such a wonderful thing, I can never thank you enough. It is a great idea.

My name is Rhea Shome and I lost my husband on September 11th in the horrific World Trade Center tragedy. I find it very difficult to write about my husband and in the process may not be able to describe all the wonderful things that we did together and the wonderful person that he was. My husband's name was Mukul Agarwala and he was 37 years old. We knew each other for nine years and were married for almost two years. We did not have any children. He was a wonderful man and we were very happy together. He was working as a research analyst in a financial company in Tower # 2.

He was a very gentle and kind person. He was a kind of a person who had time for people, who went out of his way to help people. He loved reading, music, old movies and sports. I remember Beckett, Casablanca, and Blade Runner being some of his favorites.

Mukul, I think of you every moment and miss you terribly. My life will never be the same without you. I miss the way you laughed, your jokes and the way you loved me. I know you are in a better place and that you can see me, and I know even if you are not there physically, I feel your presence. I thank you for sharing nine wonderful years with me.

With all my love,

Rhea Shome
